Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. has acquired all of the outstanding stock of Expedited Freight Systems Inc., according to a Roadrunner press release. Expedited Freight Systems(EFS) is a LTL provider based in Kenosha, WI providing overnight less than truckload services throughout the upper Midwest. This expands Roadrunners network to another 12 terminal locations in the upper Midwest and expands their overnight service offering, with very limited overlap in the existing network.
This acquisition will help Roadrunner expand in the upper Midwest where historically they have been based out of Chicago. With this acquisition, Roadrunner picks up terminals in Eau Claire, WI – Shawano, WI – Lansing, MI – Champaign, IL and Indianapolis, MN and a strong presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana.
If you need overnight less-than-truckload freight services in the Midwest, this acquisition makes Roadrunner a much more viable option for shipping that freight.
