NMFC Class 500 Freight Classification
Everything you need to know about freight classification. Class 500 freight is the most expensive to ship, the good thing for most consumers is that freight rarely falls into this classification. The 500 class is reserved for items of very high value or for items that use lots of space but weigh very little. So, for example, gold bars and ping pong balls would both fit into NMFC class 500. Other examples might be a rare one of kind items like antiques, clothing and the like.
