Freight shipments are very good indicator of how well our economy is or isn’t doing. News reports show that truck shipments were up in May and anecdotal information from several rail shippers also reflected an increase.  Good news for those wanting another way to gauge the health of the economy.  As we have talked about before, freight shipments reflect that more manufactured goods are moving and that growth has now continued for 29 straight months.  Good news for all of us!
